Netbook running on ION platforms uses only 5W od power and gives you great 3D perfromance and Full HD Video playback. Yes, I know, it sounds fabulous ;)
 
I can’t wait Linux netbooks on ION platform, I also hope NVidia stops with the nonsense that all others accepted and gives us netbooks with more that 2GB of ram!

I’ve been trying for some time use Elisa media center on Fedora but it seams that Elisa is too elusive for Fedora. Current version on Elisa home page is 0.5.12 but if you install Elisa on Fedora 9 you will get much older 0.3.2, even bigger issue is that Elisa doesn’t work because of some broken dependencies.
 
You can look at Fedora Bugzilla; more specifically look at bugs #446051 and #429590.
 
So I guessed that there will be some “break my Fedora box” packages in F9 updates-testing repos, but unfortunately there were none :(
So I booted Fedora 10 beta – this is the bleeding edge Fedora so I thought there had to be new Elisa package in F10, but guess what? Fedora 10 also has old Elisa 0.3.2 which doesn’t work.
 
I also tried manually getting packages from freshrpms testing repo, I downloaded and saved all the rpm packages and tried to install them but there were some unmet dependencies :(
 
I tried installing pigment-python-0.3.8-1.fc9.i386.rpm but that packet needs libpigment-0.3.so.8, libpigment-gtk-0.3.so.8 and libpigment-imaging-0.3.so.8 but pigment-devel-0.3.9-1.fc9.i386.rpm packet provides only so.7 but no so.8 libraries…
 
I hope these issues will get sorted out as soon as possible. I’m willing to test Elisa packages and help that way so that working and updated Elisa gets into Fedora 10 repositories.
 
UPDATE:
I found out how you can install elisa on Fedora 9 thanks to thm on #fedora-devel irc channel, and it isn’t too hard.

First you need to setup freshrpms repository; just copy the code below, but you need to remove [ ] around etc because my blog has protection that prevents me to write that path.

Predugo imam ovaj SonyEricsson K750 i ma koliko dobar bio želim novi gadget :) Gledajući razne mobitele niti jedan me nije privukao pa i zbog toga nisam imao neku želju uzeti novi mobitel. Čak mi se ni iPhone ne sviđa nešto previše. Čim sam vidio novi SonyEricssin W960 znao sam da je to telefon za mene.

Specifikacije su jako lijepe; 8GB memorije, wifi, lijep i dosta velik ekran osjetljiv na dodir, 3.2Mpixela kamera s LED flashem (što mi je najbolji feature kod K750 jer radi i kao jako dobra lampa)…

Često se uhvatim u gadget-šopingholičarskom raspoloženju :) U zadnje se vrijeme baš i ne suzdržavam: pala je tu jedna xbox360-ica, novi dual-core laptop, usb dvb-t receiver… i još par “sitnica” :)
Sada gledam ovaj mali GPS bluetooth modul, čini mi se ok, a i cijena je povoljna – 580kn.
Sigurno se pitate što bih s njime radio? I ja također :)
Ne putujem baš toliko da mi treba auto karta, ali ni ne isključujem mogućnost da će mi trebati. Najviše zašto bih htio tu igračku koristio je kao pomagalo pri detekciji wireless mreža.
Kismet (linux netstumbler na steroidima) i gps moduli se lijepo slažu. Stavite laptop u auto, malo se provozate (wardriving) po gradu i na kraju dobijete lijepo mapiranu kartu wireless mreža. Ako nisam u zabludi iz podataka koji se sakupe trebalo bi se čak vidjeti gdje se nalazi središte (AP) mreže, kolika je pokrivenost te kolika je prostorna jačina signala na karti.
Naravno da se uz korištenje laptopa ili pocket PC-a može koristiti i kao autokarta.
Vidjet ću je li to istina, i to možda uskoro ;)

Već neko vrijeme draga i ja razmišljamo o nabavci novog monitora za design i grafiku, a izbor nam je pao na widescreen 20″ modele.
Gledajući malo naišao sam na Anandtech recenzije dva trenutno najjača 20″ modela, Dell i Apple (oba koriste isti LG LCD TFT panel).
Dell i Apple se mogu naći u www.m-comupters.hr trgovini; DELL 20″ 2005FPW košta 5200kn dok je Apple 6600kn.
Vrhunac ponude je jedan ekstrem dok među najjeftinijim 20″ widescreen modelima našao sam Samsung 205BW po cijeni od 2900kn, isto u www.m-computers.hr.
Za sada još nisam našao neku zlatnu sredinu pa ćemo vjerovatno uzeti Samsunga sada a onda ga za godinu dana prodamo i uzmemo Dell-a :)

UPDATE;
Draga i ja smo išli u Konzum kupiti müsle i na kraju kupili monitor :) Philips LCD 190S7 19″ je bio na akciji za smiješnih 1600kn :)
Bilo je predobro da bi propustili. Eto kako se danas kupuje hardver – u samoposluzi. Vidio sam da će se to dogoditi još prije više godina ali nije mi palo na pamet da ću i sam tako kupovati. Never say never…
