Open Source Double Desk v2.0

In previous post I showed the general idea how our double desk will look like, now there are more details. Plan is to design a double desk and then give it to 3rd party company to make it.

I’m still looking on how to do the lighting for this desk. Any ideas are more than welcome.

Here is how it looks like from front:

On the back of the desk there are a few details I’m trying to do for cable management, so please share your opinion about it. Is there some better way of doing cable management?

Google Sketchup works really nice on Fedora via wine so if you need nice tool (not open source) for creating something similar I highly recommend it.
Download current version of this desk and feel free to make changes to it.

Seeing this I immediately thought of folks at Bluelounge who design smart stuff like this. Would be great if you can get them to work with you to bring this table to the market. And some of their existing products could actually be a great fit for this (like their CableBoxes might just be a better way for cable management). In any case, good luck!

I’d like to see a board on top of the board on the back, so I can lay/put my feets on it.

When the printer is printing, the paper is pushing against the board. Solution?

The printer should be in the first drawer. It’s easier to get the paper this way. And it’s logical too. (Get the paper from the printer, put it in the folders.)
