Fedora Chromium repo no more?
Tom “spot” Callaway Spot has been mainataining Fedora Chromium repo, but now it is gone and there is no explanation on Tom’s Spot’s blog :(
UPDATE: But there is an explanation in README.txt file.
It looks like Chromium won’t be making its way to Fedora repos anytime soon because of Googles non-cooperation :(
To make things worse Community Fedora Remix included chromium repo by default and now updates are broken for lots of people because of that :(
Is there some new Chromium repo or is the only solution to install Google Chrome instead?
Tom Spot congrats to your wife and you on baby! Also on moving to a new house, I hope you continue maintaining chromium repo.

[...] } It looks like Chromium repo that Spot maintained is no more and that is the reason why updates for Community Fedora Remix are failing for lots of people [...]

These packages have been temporarily removed, due to legal concerns with some of the included code.

The repository is temporarily closed due to legal concerns, Spot has left a note about it:

My guess it has some tie with that ticket:

That’s what happens when such stuff gets packaged by our license enforcer. ;-) (I guess most third-party packagers would just ship it anyway.)
FWIW, I don’t see the point of shipping Chromium on your remix, it’s not like we don’t have enough browsers in Fedora already.

Chromium will be replaced by Chrome in next release. Chrome is the browser with most growth and already impressive percent of userbase. It is “light” and faster alternative to Firefox. I don’t see any other browser that is close in features, stability and user base to these two browsers on Fedora.
